The Live In Person Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course is given in Person or by a Live Webinar over the internet (please check schedule to be sure which you would like to attend). This class requires attendance in person. We offer these classes once a month. Please see the “Class Schedule” on the Home page for dates the course will be given.
2 Options to take this Course
Live in Person Class at our St. Petersburg Facility – This class is given in our St Petersburg facility at 4995 49th Street N., St. Petersburg, Florida. Students are required to attend this class in person and interact with the instructor and other students. The course is 4 hours to meet the state requirement.

Live in Person Webinar – The webinar class is given in a virtual webinar room via the internet and your computer, speakers and a microphone are required to participate “Live” and the student must log in at the specified Date and Time and participate with the instructor and other students (See Class Schedule for dates). “Live Course” means the course is given in real time with an instructor and other students. You are not required to have a web camera but you must have speakers and a means to communicate with the teacher and other students using a builtin microphone on your computer or headphones with microphone plugged into your computer. Class participation is required by answering questions that are asked by the instructor by typing in your response into a text box on your computer and/or speaking through your computer microphone or phone. After registration and the day of the course you will be emailed a confirmation with a link to join the live webinar for the specific date and time you have chosen.
Both “Live” Parent Education and Family Stabilization Courses are 4 hours to meet the State Requirement of an In Person Live Course. Each hour the participant will be given a 10 minute break. An Official Certificate of Completion will be emailed to the participant immediately after the course.
These ” Live In Person Parent Education and Family Stabilization Courses” are approved as by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
OTHER OPTIONS FOR THE COURSE
Online Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course – Self Paced available 24/7 online – NO in person attendance required.
We also offer the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course as a self paced online version of the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course sometimes referred to as “Distance Learning”. The Online version of the course is self paced, you can log in and out as many times as needed until you meet the 4 hour requirement. A timer tracks the time you spend in the course once you spend 4 hours in the course you will have access to an end of the course test. Once a score of 70% or better is obtained you will have access to a Printable Certificate of Completion.
REGISTER FOR THE LIVE IN PERSON COURSE
1. Select the the Live In Person Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course on our Website.
2. Complete the registration form, make your payment and select the class date and time you want to attend, courses offered monthly.
3. You will receive an email confirming your registration for the course, If you register for the In Person Class at our St. Petersburg Facility you simply need to show up on the specific date and time you selected at registration. If you registered for the Live In Person Webinar you will receive a confirmation along with instructions and a link on how to join the webinar on the specific day and time. It is recommended to test the link to the webinar and test your computer speakers and microphone prior to the start of the Webinar. A link will be provided in your confirmation email.
What is a Webinar?
A webinar is a seminar or course conducted over the internet. Webinars can be LIVE or recorded. This Webinar will be conducted “LIVE” meaning both the instructor and participants must be present and interact with other students during the 4 hour course.

The following information will walk you through the steps of logging into the webinar and getting set up with the audio.
Once you receive your email confirmation it will include a link to JOIN THE WEBINAR
When you receive the email confirmation select the link in the email to Join the Webinar. The screen will state how many hours are remaining until the start of the Webinar ,at this time you can “Test Your Device” to ensure you computer has the required components working for the webinar. Once you have tested your computer for compatibility you will be ready to again select the link in the mail to Join the Webinar at the scheduled date and time.
You will need audio speakers and some time of microphone to hear and communicate with the instructor during the course. If your computer does not have a builtin microphone or speakers an external headrest with a microphone can be used. Please test your microphone and speaker prior to the day of class.
Please be advised in order for the course to be considered a “LIVE In Person Course” you must participate in this webinar on the internet but typing information into text boxes or answering questions vis your microphone.

Best Practices
Try to log in 10 – 15 minutes early.
Be sure to turn off all other applications you may have running during the session. This will improve the performance of the software.
Adjust the volume on your phone or computer speakers to ensure you can hear well. If you experience trouble with sound, first check your volume.
