Participants have 30 days to complete the course from the day of registration and payment.
This course is approved by the Nebraska as the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course. The course is designed to educate, train, and assist divorcing parents in regards to the impact of divorce on parents and children. PLEASE NOTE: Court Requirement is a minimum of 2 hours to be spent in this course.
The course may take 2-3 hours to complete. It has a timer which will track the amount of time you spend in the course. You do not have to complete the course all at one time. You can log in and out as many times as needed until you complete the course and reach the required two (2) hour minimum. A timer will be displayed on each page to track time spent in the course. You can refresh your page to update the timer/clock.
A Certificate of Completion will be given to the participant that completes a minimum two (2) hours in the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course and receives a score of at least 70% on the end of course test. The End of Course Test will not be available until the participant has met the two (2) hour minimum requirement. Once the timer has reached two (2) hours, the test will automatically be unlocked and accessible to the participant.
The end of the Course Test is designed to demonstrate the level of comprehension of the learning objectives by participants. The participant must obtain a score of 70% or better to earn a Certificate of Completion. If you do not obtain a score of 70% you must retake the Test until you obtain a score of 70%. The test is not timed and may be retaken at no additional cost until you receive a passing score.
The test questions are Multiple Choice. Please identify the choice that best completes the statement or answers the question. There is only one correct answer per question.
Your Official Certificate of Completion will be available to print IMMEDIATELY after you have completed the course under “My Courses/My Account”.
The Course is self-paced, available 24/7 and available for 30 days to complete from the day of registration and payment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The overall emphasis of this course is to offer parents the knowledge to provide their children the opportunity to grow up in a home environment free from being caught in the middle of their parents’ hostility.
- Learn about the potential impact of the court action upon a child.
- Identify ways to appropriately address parenting function.
- Identify the developmental stages of children.
- Learn about ways to support the child’s adjustment to parental separation.
- Identify the elements of Nebraska’s Parenting Plan and how to develop the Plan.
- Learn about alternative dispute resolution; conflict management; stress reduction; appropriate language usage and positive communication.
- Identify provisions for safety and transition plans under the Nebraska Parenting Act.
- Identify attributes of child abuse, neglect, domestic intimate partner abuse and unresolved parental conflict and how they impact members of the family.
- Identify parenting through separation resources and references for those wanting to get more information from web sites and books.
